Entropic Rot - Bristol & Somerset band photography

Entropic Rot invited me to create their latest promo photographs after having one of images for the album cover. They wanted images that went beyond the standard band portrait, something that reflected the weight and unease within their sound.

We found ourselves in the woods in the early morning, with pockets of light fracturing through the trees.

The photographs moved away from performance and focused instead on presence. The band stood rooted in the forest while hands emerged from behind them, half-seen and reaching. The setting carried a sense of unease, as if the woods were pressing closer. The contrast between their stillness and the movement around them echoed the weight of their sound; harsh, heavy, but charged with atmosphere.

Bristol band photography should not only capture how musicians look, but how they feel.

With Entropic Rot, the imagery needed to echo the weight of their sound, where heaviness is not just volume but the sense of being watched, followed, consumed.

The woods gave us that language; with shadows as chorus, hands as rhythm, silence as a backdrop for something harsher and louder to come.

This shoot was a reminder that band promo photography can exist as more than documentation. It can be ritual, vision, and memory. With Entropic Rot, it became all three.

Band Photography in Somerset & Bristol

Band photography (available in Somerset & Bristol) is about more than creating a good picture. It is about building an image that speaks for the music itself.

Promo photographs become the first impression of a band’s identity. They set the tone before a single note is heard.

My approach is to work with bands to create imagery that feels true to their sound, whether that is stark and brutal or dreamlike and haunting.

I offer band photography for promo shoots and album artwork across Bristol and Somerset. Each session is tailored to the musicians and their vision, with an emphasis on atmosphere.

For Entropic Rot, that meant drawing on the unease of the forest. For others it may mean something entirely different. The goal is always to create photographs that stay with the viewer, the same way the music does.
